What a great bunch of ladies we had this year. All of the competitors had to write an essay and do a personal interview with a panel of judges. The Queen and Princess competitors had to work an obstacle/horsemanship course with their horses while the Lil’ Misses had to make stick ponies that were judged. All competitors took part in riding in the Sawyer Stampede Rodeo Parade and Grand Entere. Once the girls were crowned they had to make entrance during intermission at both Rodeo performances, attend local parades, take part in the UP Equifest, volunteer at the Alger and Marquette County Fair, as well as the UP State Fair. They will also be required to autograph sessions at local events to publicize the upcoming years Rodeo. Our Rodeo Committee would like to give each and everyone of these girls a special thanks for taking part in our 2nd Annual Sawyer Stampede Rodeo. If we could have chosen all them to be the Queen, Princess, and Lil’ Miss we have! Winners received crowns, sashes, flowers, personalize horse blankets, logoed hay bags, and gift bags with many little prizes from local sponsors.
